    Erratic arcing

Trying to figure out what the problem may be with my Clarke EN130. When I squeeze the gun without striking an arc the wire comes out of the gun quite smooth but when welding it seems to be inconsistent I made sure the spool tension was not too tight. I have a new Miller on the way but just did not want to write off the Clark because it's a cheap welder and an off brand. It did work pretty good at one time not too long ago. With that said I don't just like throwing parts at it. Could the PCB be bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
