Thread: New contest ending no later than 3/25/16 Spread the word.

New contest ending no later than 3/25/16 Spread the word.

This will be something a bit different. The prize (one winner) will be a Longevity Powerview Elite helmet, a pair of welding gloves, and a welding cart.

    Contest rules.
To enter all you have to do is be a registered forum user and start a build thread in the Welding, Projects, and pictures section of the forum. You will have to identify the build thread as a contest entry in the post header and make a post in this thread letting us know you have posted the project thread. You may start more than one build thread if desired as long as they are done by the time the vote is held.

The contest will end 3/25/16 or as soon as there are fifteen contest build threads completed whichever comes first.
Winner selection will be by a vote of the forum members, only one vote per member. Once the contest has ended I will start a voting thread and the voting will run for 1 week. The build thread with the most votes wins. The build threads can be a single page build or one that runs over many pages and weeks or months but is finished by the contest end date.
If we get fifteen completed entries before the end date the contest will end and those builds in progress will be rolled into the next contest.

A build contest is a great idea. 6 months is some lead time! Just for curiosity, does the contest allow more than one entry per person?

Sure, that's actually a good idea. I'll add that to the contest description. The more build threads we have the better for the forum.

Can I suggest another change? This sentence says "The contest ends 3/25/16 unless we get 15 projects entered, in which case it ends sooner." This *might* mean somebody plans to have 6 months to work on a project, only to find out the contest ended a week or a month earlier and an intended entry doesn't get considered.

I think the intent was to specify the end date but hold it over until a minimum of 15 projects are entered...?

Edit: ...and re-reading the original thread, in big letters it says "ending no later than".

It also says any project not completed at the end of the contest will be rolled into the next so all builds should have a chance even if they take longer than the current contest.

OK, the contest has ended. Since we had only one person enter there is no need for a vote. J33PMan is the winner. Contact Simon at Longevity to claim your prize. There are no unfinished projects to roll over to another contest. We will not be having any more contests for awhile. There just isn't enough interest in them to justify holding any more contests.
