Component crack due to Electron Beam Welding
I'm new here.
I just need a advice from any of you guys regarding EBW. I have a housing made up of a casting method where in I have my plug inserted into a small hole and welded around the hole with EBW to avoid any leakage. I got a crack in the housing near the weld area. The material of both the housing and plug are Stellite. This housing is used in equipments in Oil & Gas.
What I want to know is, the reason for this crack? How to avoid it? Which welding technique can be suitable for this application? Will there be any improvements if I change the material of both or only plug?
