Thread: C25?

  1. #1

    C25?

Been using the lincoln weldpak....don't like it so I bought the migweld 140, welds better with fluxcore then the lincoln does. But anyways I've never had a mig so it's time to get some gas. Question is what's the best way to go about it. The whole lease and rent thing I get but I can't find a used bottle to trade in so I'd have to buy a new one and here that's like 300 bones. Is it that much everwhere?

Hi and welcome to the forum. We like pictures here so please include some showing your work. Be sure to post a bit about yourself in the introduce yourself section so we can get to know you. Also, consider entering the latest contest here. The odds of winning are great.
I had to pay nearly that much to lease my tank for 5 years. That's for a 315 CF tank, a smaller one will cost a bit less.

HELLO !!! Hope all is well!! ... Thats a good price. The supplier I use does not sell bottles nor will they fill a bottle that is not there's ... so even if I found one to buy they wouldn't and won't touch it!!

Next closet is 25 miles ... so I just rent ... I am switching my O/A to propane and stop renting that cylinder. Again man thanks for that Regulator!!

How heavy is your weld material, usually? You can also use co2 as a mig shielding gas, but it burns hotter and is better for heavier material. Plus it leaves more spatter than C25, but it may work in a pinch. For a while I've had the idea to cut and polish welds made with co2 and compare it to c25, just to see if there's a difference... but I'm having trouble finding a co2 bottle in my price range (which is a number that asymptotically approaches zero).

Found a local welding guy with an odd ball sized tank. Sold it for $180 full. And he will fill it for me out of his big tank for $20. It's a short fat tank smaller then 80cuft. Should work just fine for me
