    Esab Welding Helmets

I recently purchased two Esab welding helmets from Weldfabulous.com, first is the Esab Globe-Arc welding and grinding helmet shade 10 plus an extra external shade 8 and will be receiving it next week. The other one is the Esab New Tech 9-13 ADC Plus, this will be my first ADH and hopefully receive it next month, it will still have to be shipped from the US to the Phil.

Well I'm kinda excited in having these helmets soon, though I'm gearing up too for my plan to purchase a Mig or a Tig welder in the coming months. Anyway I chose the Esab New Tech ADH because of the great features it carries plus I can wear my 3M respirator inside the hood with ease while welding due to the large area in front of the mouth. Anyway when I get them both I'll post them and probably make a review and some comparison.

As of now I use a Hobart large flip viewing window with a passive lens for stick welding.

What kind of respirator are you using? I'm curious because I'm using a particulate filter but wonder if I should be looking for something that is also good for fumes. I think you'll really like the ADH when it comes in.

Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

Like what I said in my post, its a 3M respirator,7500 series half face piece, its very light and nice under the hood, simply no trace of those deadly fumes. If you decide on one, go for this one too. I would change sometimes the filters to the 3M 2091 P100 ( those pink colored particulate filters ) to lessen the weight more.

Nice! Also nice that you managed to get it to fit under your helmet.

Well got already my Esab Globe Arc helmet, actually received it a little past mid last month, though have not used it yet but tried it and found it very light and with a very cool design. It can be used for Stick, Mig, Tig, Oxy-ace and Plasma cutting and grinding. Anyway, I'm still waiting for the other one, the New Tech ADH in three weeks time, I was informed, I hope.

I'll post them pics here when I have them both and try to give some reviews on those welding helmets. I'll keep you posted !

Finally, finally, my two helmets are with me, it arrived separately from the states, the first one was mid October of last year and the other one was mid of January this year. Kinda excited specially the newer one 'coz its my first time to use an auto darkening helmet. Please allow me to post and share some pics of them though I haven't used them yet so I cannot give a sort of reviews on them. As undercut said before, I might really like using the ADH, well let's see about that, LOL !!!

Each helmet is wrapped in plastic, plus their own user's manual. Purchased also an extra lens of shade #8 for the Globe Arc.

Simple, cool and classic designs with great features to boot. A good investment IMHO for eyes and face protection during welding and metal fabs.

Both helmets are very light, much much lighter than my other passive Hobart helmet, but of course they are non battery hoods and very comfortable too when I just tried it on.

Well I'm so positive about these welding helmets, since its coming from a reputable brand. Anyway I haven't used them yet for welding but tried them out yesterday to see how light and comfortable they are, wow man I just love them and I am pretty damn sure will enjoy wearing them. So much space in the mouth area inside, just perfect for wearing my 3M air filter/respirator.

I'm thinking about getting the same 3m respirator you have. Good to see you like them so far. I'm sure you'll really like how it will improve your welding experience.
