Volume one, has info on metal types basic heat treatment, cutting, brazing and welding:

volume two, mostly about assembling stuff, wire rope, rigging etc.

I recommend getting the introduction and reading the tables of contents, then downloading what you want.

I don't know how up-to-date it is, and I haven't seen much of it, but I like it so far.
