I know someone here uses it. Anyone here have an tips/tricks? How do the amount of scans work? What can you really do with this software? I downloaded it because I know you can trace an image and export it as a DXF, but I haven't a clue on how to do it. Any help is appreciated.

I use Inkscape. Not even close to an expert, but it does work well. The simpler the design, the better results. I try to start with a simple, black and white image or make a color image gray-scale. Select the image in Inkscape and click on Path, Trace bitmap. I usually use the default threshold for Brightness cutoff. After that, I move (or remove) the image if the trace is good enough and clean up the trace if needed. I can then edit paths by node (F2). When done, Save As to output as a DXF. I know this is just a quicky, but it's a start. Here are some videos I found very good from Arclight Dynamics:

I have also used Brightness steps under Trace bitmap/Multiple scans. I then ungroup the trace and look for one that I can use. I do this more for my router table, but used it a few times for the plasma table.
