diifficulty cutting 5/8 w/200p

I'm really struggling cutting some 5/8 with the 200p I've tried incrimental increases in air pressure from 65psi-105psi. 85 seems to work the best although my techinique has improved and I have not tried lower air pressures with it. I found if I angle the tourch slightly in to the direction of travel it blows through the material better. still I'm really having problems with the dross blocking the bottom of the cut line and then losing the penetration. I believe this machine is supposed to cut 3/4 and severence 1".

The 200P should cut that thickness easily. You might try holding your torch at different heights to see if you are too close or too far from the metal. Also, you might be moving too fast across the metal. What amperage are you using for that thickness? Does the meter show the correct amperage for the dial setting?

I got it working better at 65psi. and I remembered to swirl the plasma around a bit when I need to stop to reposition to give a clean spot to re start again. Another thing I found for cutting openings in the middle of the material is to angle the plasma and gouge out a crater then you can drill the rest of the way through very quickly to get a starting point in the middle of the piece.

Unfortunately, the units may max out at the 5/8inch depending on consumables and air pressure. Which tips do you have? Are they flat at the tip or pointy? The pointy tips offer a much bigger arc and are meant for thicker cuts.

Please give us a PM with your address. I will have one large tip and electrode mailed to you. This will give you an idea of the cutting quality.

Here is an image of the larger tips:
