Dual Voltage Plasma Cutting... With A ForceCut 42i

12-01-2012, 08:12 AM
Morning everyone!!

So, I recently for this nice little ForceCut from the good folks at Longevity to make videos with, and so far, I'm VERY impressed with it! I've made it through 1" plate on 220v, and even gotten to play with it on 110v some.

Honestly, Im not all that big on 110v machines, when I first started welding, I bought a used Lincoln 110v mig welder off the local Craigslist, and when I move up to my 220V Hobart MIG, I swore I'd never go back, but this whole "Dual Voltage" thing isnt a bad setup, at all.

You get 220v of pure power for most things, but if you have to go somewhere and work on something that you can't get to your shop for whatever reason, just use that little pigtale adapter, and you can still make it through some pretty thick plate if need be. Its like having a regular 220 machine, that you can take anywhere :bounce

Heres a video I made... Its a Severance Test of the machine, incase you're wondering what it can do on 1/2 the input power. Oh, and few other things you might like to know about dual-voltage plasma cutters.

Enjoy the video everyone, and happy welding :)
