Looks like a SHORT list this time. I'll never make it in time. Just been too busy with other things this Fall. :(

Is there a problem WW? Images in posts don't count, only images in the Gallery

Dan, refer to #5 on your above list. This is what Wookie is questioning.

From what I see, when Demanding to be entered,
Wookie stated the following:

Posts currently at 299 will need a total of 499 posts
43 pics will need a total or 68 pics
have sig have avatar
I demand to be entered in this contest

But his current image gallery shows only 35 images. So 8 images are missing or it was a typo on his part?

Thanks Aaron. I'll have to see if I can sort it out

I went through all of WW's images and found that he had 33 at the time he entered the contest and will need 58 to qualify. He currently has 35

All lists are now up to date and correct.

My images keep disappearing... I know I've only had 3 at the start of the contest, and that is correct BUT prior to that I had over 25 or 28 at one time and I didn't delete any of them. They just pisaddeared. Guess I can re-upload em and get credit again huh since they gone now?

They were most likely lost with one of the hacks we had in the past. Since they were not there at the time you signed up for the contest putting them back should count.

That's what I figured. I hope we are about finished with the daggum hackers though.

Hackers never quit. We need to start killing them when we find them. It seems slapping their wrists isn't much of a deterrent.

No, we shouldn't kill them, we should just start removing their fingers one by one for every offense.

I would start by removing their 11th digit if you get my drift.

Ok can jump on board either of these suggestions. I'm just sick of people being allowed to have a fifth, or tenth offense!

I would like to know what the heck do the hackers get out of hacking sites.Just doesn't make sense to me.

The challenge I guess cause I don't think most hackers are able to gain financially. I could be wrong though seeing how I'm not a computer hacker.

That's a good question Gilly. I can see them being financed by Norton's or McAfee lol.
Like the company that makes the radar gun makes the radar detector sort of thing.

I've said that before too. The Ati-Virus companies are creating the Viruses. Perfect plan for job security! LOL

...and perfect advertisement for getting people to buy a Mac!
I wish I could afford one.

Anyone know how I can delete an image from my gallery? I accidently uploaded an image twice.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Open the image then use the Image Tools drop down at the top right of the viewer window and delete is an option there.
Rather than buy a Mac just install Ubuntu Linux on a PC. Mac uses Linux under the hood anyway.

Thanks!
My boss runs Linux on his home computer and swears by it. He and you are much more computer savy than I am. Sure I program cnc machines for a living but I'm nearly computer illiterate! If the problem can't be solved by kicking the side of the tower I'm pretty much sol!

Hey Gadget is this list correct? I thought I had the images in the bank before your last update. Perhaps you updated while I was uploading... I can't imagine I needed 55 posts with two days to go however. Am I in?

Usually one of several things Guy. They redirect to their site bumping their hits to increase their advertising revenue. They also try to spam the site to get you to go to their commerce site. And if that wasn't enough they try to infect you by directing you to an infected web site. There's a lot more reasons they hack but money is basically the biggest reason.

James, you are in. The list I composed was made awhile ago and the only updating I did was when someone qualified. You can see there you are now qualified.
The list was only to encourage people to get busy but now I keep it up to date for qualified entrants to make it easier for Simon to do the drawing.

I use Ubuntu on my CNC machine and have a build of it in the house too. But, like you said Bruce everything I do seems to run on windows.

lol. Don't. You'll just spend infinite time trying to run all the programs you used to love unsuccessfully. Unless your beer fridge never empties, I just wouldn't.... lol.
