you wanting to mainline pipe? off-shore? structural, high-pressure? i dont know of a dedicated rig welders forum, however, there are plenty of welding forums out there.... as far as finding a job as a rig hand, your almost best bet is to get in your local union. and be prepared to fork out some serious cash into a truck, machine and gear... hope i helped

not sure what to say then.... start playing golf and find otu where the union bosses are playing and lose a couple rounds to them...lol.... i refuse to pay another entity just to be able to go to work, i already pay the state and federal govt, i'll be danged if im gonna pay a union too... anyway, from my exp, most mainline jobs go through unions... best of luck sir...

btw, what truck and rig you running? what machine you have on the back....got pics???? lol

That's a nice truck! In Illinois the tag for that baby would be about $400 a year...

look at finding rig work in las vegas.... there is ALWAYS the need for a structural welder there..... just a thought. around here, we have the river, and alot of work around here is for river vessels... ie barges, tugs, and the likes... and also the gas wells... they always needing transfer manifolds and water transfer piping repaired
