I ran the Oaklawn Hospitality classic 10K and 5K races today and had pretty good success. I finished 3rd in my age group in the 10K and paced a friend to his age group personal best in the 5K.
We had perfect weather and it was a great day for both of us.

I had a lot of fun Art. It was very satisfying to help my friend hit a personal best in the 5K and a medal in the 10K is always nice. Perfect weather for the event and a great turnout.

Let's see.... should I use stainless or aluminum. Maybe diamond plate?

I would use diamond plate, the kind with real diamonds!!

I didn't know you were on TM, I just sent you an email.
Your cross slide casting is machined now. I still have to square it up with the bed but the machining is done.

Thanks Dan. I still have not mounted the part I screwed up. It looks like motorcycle riding weather today so it won't get done today either. Probably not until I get back from vacation.

With all that you put into this site, I am amazed that you still find time to train. Congrats!

Got another medal today but it was just a finisher's medal. I ran the Soldier Field 10 mile race in the heat today finishing with a personal best by over two minutes with a time of 1:18:31 and an average pace of 7:51. 6th in my age group out of 77 in the group and 879th out of 10,000 overall. I'm pleased.

Dan:
Wow! Two minutes over ten miles is a lot. Good for you! Looks like wine - you're improving with age.

Cheers,
