Setting for Aluminum welding

ok, I have done tig welding in a trailer shop, the machine I used was pre set up,and seem to me it has just a few knobs, but! back to my question is I'm using pure argon gas,and will be welding new 1/4 angle, and flat bar,was wondering what would be all setting in pulse mode,I know use ac current, but it all the other knob setting I would like to know,at lease a starting point in the metal I'm welding ,also they don't recommend pure Tungsten Electrodes, would 2% Ceriated Tungsten work

If your machine is a transformer use pure if it is inverter based use ceriated. For 1/4 inch idk what mass of material you are welding but if it is anything substantial you need about 250 amps and 300ish to get going. Don't use pulse you will take away heat here which you dint want to do. I would preheat first and if it is just small stuff with not much mass you can get away with about 200 amps.

it is the 200pi

The 200PI and in fact all Longevity welders are inverter welders and should use the 2% Thoriated or Ceriated electrodes.
